steadily slow
Making lots of music with a few different people right now, and I’ll share some it later today. First, here’s another piece that’s shaping up into something I’m liking. It takes a minute to get into it, but patience is a virtue. I think.
PS- If you’re in Toronto today, have you noticed dark it is? I’m scared and in my basement.
sunday songs
Here’s one I’m starting today. I swear it’ll be more exciting then this eventually, but here it is in stripped down emo-folk glory. A large thanks to Joel Schwartz who’s helping me out with this one…..
I’m happy
Listening to fleetwood mac and about to enjoy this. Say what you will, sound or no sound, when someone makes you seared tuna with a home made wasabi sauce you blog about NOW.

this is how this morning’s tune is sounding so far. I’m going to actually go outside now because it looks really really nice out and I’m wearing a squinty face like a mole. That ain’t right.
more folk tunes
I’m trying to write a folk ditty that will eventually have big loud crashing drums. I swear it’ll work eventually. Here’s the start of it at least.

So we picked up the masters for the Outlanders record yesterday and I’m excited. These guys and girls are some of my favorite people to make music with and I’m happy the album turned out the way it did. The release party is October 30th at the Orbit Room, doors early at about 730, so please come down. Here’s a quick little tune that Joel Schwartz wrote and we all had some fun with.
I still don’t like it.
Many people say that the best way to overcome a phobia is to head at it straight on and just confront it. You don’t like the dark? Turn off all the lights and get used to it. Don’t like spiders? Watch Arachnophobia and read Charlotte’s Web.
I don’t really like the sound of squishy avocado. I’m not really afraid of it, I just don’t like it. I like how they taste, but not how they squelch. How can I get over this? I thought by recording my lady friend making guacamole and listening to it a few dozen times I’d conquer my little dislike. To no avail. here it is for all of you.
tastes so good. sounds so bad.

Some sounds. Yeah you. Tomorrow, I promise. I started the next record in earnest this week and I’m excited, more people involved this time, and I’m taking some of it out of the basement. I’m excited about that and I’m sure my landlord is too.
No commentsangry dolphin or annoying child?
This screaming angry child literally brought myself and my 2 neighbors outside to see what animal was being tortured in the streets. You only get the last 2 wails on the recording, but it should be enough to get the idea.
