Drummer for the the Pretty Things and Georgie Fame’s Blue Flames, but most notably the Jimi Hendrix experience, Mitch Mitchell passed away today due to reportedly natural causes. he was either 61 or 62, there seems to be a bit of debate about that. Regardless of age, he was one hell of a great drummer, fusing a heavy jazz influence with psychadelic rock better then anyone else in the 60′s in my humble opinion. Here’s a great clip of a Mitch playing with a super group consisting of Keith Richards, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, and a bass player that no one seems to name anywhere in a band called the Dirty Mac.
