still no good wifi
which means no pictures. We played our fist show last night and it was completely insane. About 4000 people in a place called Vivary park, all eating and drinking in a very calm english manner. These people take their picnics seriously, I’m talking full out wooden tables brought in with multiple bottles of champagne, wine, beer, liquor, and various types of birds cooked and quartered. What I also find interesting is when someone at a show in Canada give the “how’s everybody doing?” you either get a smattering of applause or on a good night a lot of screaming. Here, they seem to have all talked about how to appropriately respond before hand, and they all just yell HEY in complete unison. It’s fairly crazy. I need to get it H4′d.
We met some very friendly people last night, one being reggae legend Rico Rodriguez. He was probably the coolest man I’ve ever had the pleasure of talking to. He’s about 70 or older and you really need to google this guy. Jools HOlland was also very cool and a killer piano player.
Gotta run, we’re off to Cornwall possibly, or maybe Wales. Any suggestions? We’ve got a few days off and are looking for adventure………
No commentsday 2
So we’ve arrived safe and sound in the thankfully sunny and picturesque town of Taunton. Had a great Canada day at my good friend Hannah’s place where she fed us a meal of beer butt chicken which I had never had but intend to again and again. We all met at the airport last night, David had a crazy day of flying from St. JOhn in the morning to Ottawa where the show he was supposed to play got rained out, so back to Halifax he came. Flight was fine, I fell asleep at takeoff and woke up just before the descent which made me very happy. The town looks nice and quaint, and everyone is settling in for a nap…..talk soon….
