new everything

Happy spring friends. Figured it was about time to peek out of the studio cave and say hello.  Lots of new things happening, so here’s a quick update of some of them.

- new website look! Thanks to the talents and eyes  of Daffyd Hughes, the site is a little easier to navigate, a little cleaner and hopefully better in general. Thanks to Ryan Lake for letting us use his amazing illustration/cover art, and to Kyle Cunjak for the banner photo of me in one of my favourite spots in the world, Hirtle’s Beach NS.

- A big congrats to my good friend David Myles, who just won Songwriter of the Year and Single of the Year at the 2012 ECMA’s. Super happy for him and all that’s to come. He and I are working away hard at some new music that will hopefully come out in the next couple weeks….

- My new record is slowly but surely getting done. I’ve ben involved in a few other super fun projects that took me off the track a bit, but it was nice to have a breather. I’m also super pumped to let you know that two of my favourite songwriters in the country, Mike Feurstack (Snailhouse) and Justin Rutledge are both making some super cool contributions to the album. Also returning are jvt alumni Dean Drouillard, Robbie Grunwald, Devon Henderson, Jaron Freeman Fox, and more I’m really excited to share them with you so here’s a brief clip of the tune with Justin. The song tells the story of a girl with cybernetic abilities controlling metal fish creatures.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The aim is to have tho record done by July 1st. There, I said it so now it has to be.

- a bunch of my music has been featured on the new underwater travel adventure show “Descending”. It’s a beautifully shot series that’s definitely worth checking out.

More to come soon, but for now back to work. xo
