I’m lucky enough to be part of a couple upcoming records from 2 amazing song writers, Kate Rogers and Royal Wood. Both are artists that are really striving to incorporate some new sounds into their already great music, and working with people like these two was and is a real treat. Here’s the video for Kate’s first single called “Anger Management”. The band spent 2 days at her amazing family cottage north of Toronto, and a had a blast eating giant fake dinner, playing snow croquet, and being cold together.

Working on this album was a very cool experience for me, whereas Dean Drouillard (co-producer of the album and guitar player) and Royal brought the songs in to me before they hit the studio and asked me to try and come up with rhythms and sounds they could use with the band when tracking that may push them in a not completely natural direction, or otherwise inform the musical decision making process. The guys took what I did, then after the songs were tracked, brought them back to me and allowed me to use strings and vocals and whatever else I wanted to build ambiences and other sonic treats. Royal and Dean were awesome about allowing me total artistic freedom at every step in the process, and it’s really rewarding to hear how it all turned out.
