How is it foggy in saskatoon?

Tour is going great, good shows and people, but very weird weather. We’re currently in a snow storm, but yesterday we were in a giant fog? I actually really like driving through Saskatchewan but I can’t see much lately. Headed to Calgary for tonight, should be fun.

In other news, this is our new Mayor. I’m a little nervous. A lot nervous actually.

Charming isn’t he? People are actually looking into moving out of Toronto because of this guy, and I don’t blame them.

ear picture

(on facebook? go to www.joshuavt.com for the audio)

Had a really fun quick intro to New York on the weekend. It’s a busy, really interesting, fun city. It didn’t blow my mind and make me want to pack up everyting I have or don’t and move down there tomorrow, but I’d definitely love to go back. I had an experience that border lined on religious in Maxwell’s Drum Shop when the really great staff member showed me Elvin Jones‘ drum kit that he toured with, and that he came in a dropped off/set up at the store. It’s literally a museum in there. Took a few pictures but recorded more sounds then anything. I find more they help me remember things clearer and in a broader way then by just having a visual. There’s not really much depth to a picture taken by a device that’s primarily a device used to make phone calls, as fancy as the iphone may be. At least not in my hands.

Why are my glasses always dirty

haven’t posted in a few days, ended up being busier then I thought. Gig got canceled in Halifax due to a horror movie showing(?). That’s a new one. Ended up in the studio with david myles the past few days who apparently been recording a new record? Super fun, working with Charles Austin who’s a weirdo like us and likes to make things interesting and fresh. Fredericton tomorrow night with David, on the road now. These highways are super smooth, tolls are there for a reason.

Drive right through

( on facebook? Go to www.joshuavt.com for the full post)
Here on day 2 of the semi regular Cockerill tour. We played Montreal last night, ate some Schwartz’s and sampled some smoky local beers. We’re on a big drive currently to PEI for a show tonight in Charlottetown. Feels like I was just there because I was. That’s ok though, it’s a happy clean place full of red sand and water, could be worse. Could be Winnipeg. I’m sorry, I don’t mean these things.
Trying to take advantage of the van time on this tour and brought my laptop for once. 3 grants due in October, so this is a great time to get a leg up on them. What does that even mean by the way? Anyway, Devo is already losing his mind a pictured below, and it’s only day 2. Encouraging.
